More than 100 years of energy in the Netherlands

The story of TTEP Netherlands began more than a century ago. What started as a regional electricity company in Zeeland has grown into a modern energy company with a portfolio of key power generation assets across the Netherlands.

Throughout changes in the market, technological developments and the energy transition, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to a reliable and secure energy supply.

Today, TTEP Netherlands combines more than 100 years of experience with a diverse portfolio of energy assets. Together, we provide the flexibility and reliability that are essential to the Dutch energy system.

1919

Establishment of
Provinciale Zeeuwse Electriciteit Maatschappij (PZEM)
The beginning of an energy company that would go on to play an important role in the development of Zeeland’s electricity supply.

1934

Establishment of Zeeuwse Gas Maatschappij
The company expands its services from electricity to gas.

1970

Provinciale Zeeuwse Energie Maatschappij
Electricity and gas activities are brought together within a single energy company.

1991

The start of the DELTA-era
The organisation continues its development under the name DELTA. It grows into an integrated utility company with activities in energy, water, internet and environmental services for both consumers and businesses.

2000

From utility company to market player
The liberalisation of the energy market fundamentally changes the sector. Energy supply, previously organised on a regional basis, becomes part of a competitive market, creating new opportunities as well as new challenges.

2016

A turning point for the organisation
Driven by liberalisation, increasing competition and new legislation, the organisation is further divided. Commercial energy activities and regulated network activities are separated.

2017

PZEM reintroduced
Following the separation of the various business activities, the organisation continues under the PZEM name, focusing on energy trading, supply and power generation, as well as holding a 50% interest in Sloecentrale.

2019

100 years of energy in the Netherlands
What began as a regional electricity company has grown into an organisation with a century of knowledge, experience and commitment to the Dutch energy system.

2023

Part of EP NL / EPH
PZEM becomes part of EP NL and EPH. Together with Sloecentrale (100%), Rijnmond (100%) and EnecoGen (50%), this creates a broad Dutch power generation portfolio and lays the foundation for a new, future-focused organisation.

2026

TTEP Netherlands
A new chapter begins. The Dutch activities become part of TTEP, a joint venture between EPH and TotalEnergies. Under the TTEP Netherlands name, more than 100 years of energy experience, operational expertise and strategic energy assets come together in one organisation.

With more than 100 years of experience in energy, TTEP Netherlands combines the heritage of PZEM with the strength of Sloecentrale, Rijnmond Energie and EnecoGen. Together, we contribute to the reliability and security of supply of the Dutch energy system – today and in the future.
