From PZEM to TTEP: More Than a century of Energy for the Netherlands

Since 29 April 2026, EP NL has been part of TTEP, the new European energy company established by TotalEnergies and EPH. With the official registration of the new company name on August 5th 2026, this transition now becomes visible in the Netherlands. The change marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Dutch organisation, building on more than a century of experience in the energy sector.
The former EP NL B.V. will continue under the name TTEP Netherlands B.V..
More than a century of experience focused on the future
The new name represents more than a formal change. It reflects the evolution of an organisation that has been closely connected to the Dutch energy sector for generations.
The company’s roots can be traced back more than a century to the establishment of the Provinciale Zeeuwse Electriciteits-Maatschappij (PZEM). Through EP NL, that legacy now continues within TTEP, a new European energy company that brings together the strengths of two international energy groups. From a provincial utility to a national electricity company, and now a European energy enterprise, the organisation has continuously evolved while remaining committed to powering society.
A strong Dutch position with in TTEP
In addition to the Netherlands, TTEP operates in France, Italy, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, making it one of Europe’s leading providers of flexible power generation.
Within this international group, the Netherlands holds a strategically important position. Through the Sloe Power Plant, Rijnmond, and its 50% stake in Enecogen, TTEP Netherlands has approximately 2.6 GW of flexible generation capacity. This enables the company to make a vital contribution to the security of supply and stability of the Dutch electricity grid.
At the same time, TTEP Netherlands continues to invest in the further decarbonisation and optimisation of its assets. A key example is a large-scale battery energy storage project currently under construction. The company is also strengthening its position in the Dutch B2B energy market and developing innovative solutions for the energy system of the future, including services for battery developers and renewable energy producers.
